The Rock at Boston College was founded in 2011 by a group of students, led by Ian Thomas Malone ’13, who were looking to create an alternative venue to express their opinions. The Rock covers a wide variety of topics, many of which are not usually found in campus publications. The Rock hopes to serve as a resource to the BC community, providing information about the area as well as highlighting the varied interests of our writers.
Today, The Rock’s content covers a wealth of topics from the silly to the serious. Writers are encouraged to develop and follow through on their own ideas and deadlines. If a writer is eager, passionate and willing to write, they have a place at The Rock. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive publication with no applications or “requirements” for writers.
We are eager to grow as an online publication and we welcome any new suggestions. Contact our editorial board at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or comments!
